Hurricane Dorian is now a Category 5 Hurricane. With 180mph sustained winds, Dorian is the strongest hurricane in modern record to hit the Bahamas and heading toward the southeastern coast of the U.S.
The Governors of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina have all declared a state of emergency. FEMA has activated their Emergency Operations Centers (EOC) in Florida, Georgia, and a partial activation in South Carolina. The Seminole Tribe of Florida has declared a state of emergency and partially activated the FEMA EOC.
Coastal counties in Florida are issuing mandatory evacuation orders.
This is an update to our Alert which we published on 31 August which discussed preparedness as it became clear Dorian was bearing down on southeastern U.S.

The likelihood of landfall on the central-Atlantic coast of Florida remains high.
