Solomon Islands - The UK FCDO advises it’s citizens, “Honiara is tense but calm following violent demonstrations between 24 and 27 November. The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force, with the support of Fijian defence personnel, Papua New Guinea police officers and Australian police and army personnel, has taken steps to de-escalate violence and is maintaining order.”
Russia - Russia kicks off a major military exercise in the Russian Southern Military District with more than 10,000 troops participating - this district is responsible for the Black Sea region.
Belarus - Military troops are massing along the Ukrainian border for joint exercises with the Russian military.
Panama - Canada has warned it’s citizens, “We have changed the risk level for the Mosquito Gulf in Panama to “avoid all travel” due to the high levels of illegal activity such as drug smuggling and human trafficking.”
United States - Shooting incident in Oxford High School, Oxford, Michigan, Nov. 30 resulting in multiple casualties. A 15-year-old student has been taken into custody.
Congo - Two Red Cross workers were abducted on 30 November - the kidnapping took place at 1030 a.m. as their two-vehicle convoy travelled from the regional capital Goma to the nearby area of Sake.
Indonesia - The annual Islamist demonstration at National Monument Area in Jakarta will be held on December 2.
Malaysia - The UK FCDO advises it’s citizens to avoid travel, for security reasons to all islands off the coast of eastern Sabah from Kudat to Tawau, including (but not limited to) Lankayan, Mabul, Pom Pom, Kapalai, Litigan, Sipadan and Mataking.
India - The street vendor association will be protesting at the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s, who resides in the Civil Lines area of New Delhi on December 2.

Japan - In an unusual move the government has ordered airlines to stop selling inbound air travel tickets through 01 January 2022, due to the COVID Omicron variant. This move effectively locks out both citizens and foreign visitors from returning to Japan via air. The government added, those with existing tickets may travel. Travelers will want to monitor their scheduled flights carefully as the likelihood of their airline canceling or consolidating flights due to the sparse numbers of passengers.
Hong Kong - British Airways announced they were suspending flights into Hong Kong. In recent days arriving crew members have been sent to “quarantine camps” for ten days due to having been deemed, in close contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID or who tested positive.

United States: National Weather Service: Widespread record breaking temperatures likely from Northwest into Great Plains through Thursday; Elevated Fire Weather Risk for Southern California… …Atmospheric river winds down over the Pacific Northwest today; river flooding and isolated landslide risks remain… …Light rain and snow showers over portions of the Great Lakes and Northeast through midweek.
Chile: For the fifth day in a row an earthquake greater than 4.0 has occurred, today’s quake was a 5.1 just off the coast.
Panama: Adverse weather is predicted through at least 07 December – travelers may expect heavier than normal rainfall throughout Panama.
Brazil – Adverse weather is predicted throughout the country through at least 04 December.
Mexico - The SSN reported that at 7:11:44 a magnitude 4.1 earthquake was recorded 19 kilometers from Crucecita, Oaxaca at a depth of 3 kilometers.


Mexico - A third dengue fever case has been detected in the Yucatan. Two cases in Merida and one in the port city of Progresso. Yucatan Health Secretariat (SSY) continues fumigation efforts to control the Aedes aegypti fly (mosquito).


Nigeria - In an unusual move airlines have ordered travel agencies in Nigeria to stopped selling international flight tickets as a SOTO (Sold Out, Ticketed Out) situation exists. The issue for the airlines, according to IATA is the shortage of U.S. dollars in Nigeria and the currently backlog of over $200 million awaiting repatriation to foreign airlines.
Uganda - Media reports the government of Uganda may default on the Chinese government’s loan against the nation’s only international airport, Entebbe. The government of Uganda says that China will not be taking over control of the airport, international media says different as Uganda experiences the effects of the China debt trap.
Mexico - Mexican government has said a drug cartel (Sinaloa) was behind the grenade and small arms fire attack in Guaymas, Sonora on 25 November, which targeted the local police chief. The attacker was killed by police who returned fire. Casualties included one of the police chief’s body guards and a local feminist leader, Lucero Marisol who was participating in a rally at city hall - “International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.” Police have subsequently arrested 11 individuals.
