Iran - We continue to urged travelers NOT to travel to Iran at this time due to the heightened tensions between the U.S. and Iran. Read Securely Travel’s “Do Not Travel to Iran or Iraq” The U.S. does not have the ability to assist travelers within Iran. In addition, the shoot down of Ukrainian International’s PS752 highlights the danger of air travel into and around Iranian airspace.
Iraq - Travelers are urged NOT to travel to Iraq at this time due to the heightened tensions between the U.S. and Iran. Read Securely Travel’s “Do Not Travel to Iran or Iraq” The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad has suspended citizen services. The only U.S. consulate operating and providing consular services is located in Erbil. Numerous countries have urged their citizens to leave Iraq at this time.
Middle East Region - Travelers are urged to keep a low profile during this fluid period. Avoid crowds and monitor local media. Do not wear clothing which identifies you as from a specific country. The US Maritime Administration has issued an MSCI Alert for the Gulf region through 12 January following a number of at-sea incidents.

France - Trade unionist continue their ongoing national strike which continues to affect travelers to France.

China - The mysterious outbreak of a pneumonia like virus has medical investigators puzzled. Travelers to central-China need to maintain personal vigilance on the current situation prior and during travel.

Australia - The fires continue. A state of emergency continues for the east coast of New South Wales. Firefighters from around the world are as part of the global effort to assist Australia during this period of catastrophic fires.
Mexico - Popo has been spewing lava of late, providing a significant display of fire and projectiles.
United States - Once again Puerto Rico has been hit by a series of earthquakes which has resulted in hundreds of thousands without shelter as destruction of homes and infrastructure is widespread.
