SUMMARY: Ian and Noru two powerful storms are rightfully capturing our attention. Ian is growing into a powerful hurricane and is heading toward a landfall along the Florida Gulf Coast early this week and is currently pummeling Cuba and Jamaica, while Noru, a Super Typhoon has just passed over the Philippines and is heading across the South China Sea toward Vietnam. Ebola has raised its head in Uganda once again. Haiti sees unions calling for a nationwide strike, while in Iran violent protests continue across the nation.

Haiti - Unions calling for a nationwide strike 26-28 September, potential for violence high.

Cuba - Jamaica - United States/Florida - Tropical Storm Ian (soon to be Hurricane Ian) is currently drenching Cuba and Jamaica, and is expected to reach Florida by the early hours of 27 September. All counties in Florida are on emergency footing. For those requiring shelter, Florida’s Disaster organization has a website which lists all shelters and their current status (open/close).

Philippines - Vietnam - Super Typhoon Noru has passed over the Philippines and is now heading toward Vietnam.

Iran - Nationwide violent protests continue, with the number of casualties and arrests both growing.

The 25 September, CDC issued an updated “FLOOD SAFETY TIPS” to protect yourself, and your home during a flood.

The National Weather Service has issued a “no fooling pay attention” alert concerning Tropical Storm Ian (expected to peak as a Category Four Hurricane.

According to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (administered by the US Navy) Super Typhoon Noru has passed over the Philippines in the South China Sea and is headed in the direction of Vietnam.
