SUMMARY: Hurricane Ian is fast approaching Category 5 status. Securely Travel created a resource guide to assist evacuees. Haiti continues to experience civil unrest and the U.S. Department of State is urging citizens to depart. The transportation strike continues to disrupt cities in France. While Russia is accused of sabotaging the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipeline in the Baltic Sea. Also in Russia, men by the thousands are voting with their feet to avoid conscription, which has engendered discussion in the Kremlin on the need to close the countries borders to eligible males.

France - Public transportation strike in Paris - 28-30 September

Russia - Talks swirl around Russia closing its borders to men between the age of 18-65 as hundreds of thousands of Russian males flee the country to avoid Russia’s mobilization.

Russia - Some EU countries accuse Russia of sabotaging the Nord Stream pipelines in the Baltic Sea, and many EU countries have put the security of their internal infrastructure on a higher state of alert.

United States - Hurricane Ian has forced the closure of a number of airports. The FAA website is available where updates are made regularly - MCO (Orlando) is scheduled to remain closed through 0730 on 30 September.
