Securely Travel Brief – May 01, 2018
Today’s Securely Travel brief is culled from the travel warnings and travel alerts found via news media, government and social networks.
Ghana crime alert. Israel West Bank and Gaza unrest. Nicaragua unrest.

Ghana - Crime alert
The Australia, Smart Traveller advises travelers to mind their possessions and look out for suspicious behavior. Exercise a high degree of caution around Bawku, Tamale municipality, Yendi district and the area around Bimbilla because of the possibility of outbreaks of violence over disputes within or between local ethnic groups. They reference their complete travel warning for Ghana for additional information. Of note, in early-April 2018, Canada issued a similar travel alert for Ghana.

Israel - Do not travel to Gaza Strip or West Bank
Increased tension between Israel and Iran since February 2018 has resulted in multiple direct military confrontations. Take official safety and security warnings seriously and follow the instructions of local authorities. https://t.co/sTYhzj7sS1
