Volcano erupting in Hawaii. General Strike called in Bolivia.
United States - Kilauea Volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii erupting
Yesterday afternoon Mount Kilauea began to erupt, and push lava up through cracks in the surface. Media and resident reports indicate that cracks in the surface preceded molten lava being pushed up and through those cracks, sometimes sending plumes of lava up into the air as high as 150 feet. The Hawaiian National Guard has been deployed to the Big Island to assist in the mandatory evacuation of approximately 10,000 residents (the population of the Big Island is approximately 185,000 plus tourists)

Yesterday Securely Travel issued “Four important tips to know before you go to Hawaii” where we discussed the situation on the Big Island, Oahu and Kauai. Travelers are urged to communicate with their host or lodging provider to determine if the volcano eruption or flood recovery has affected their travel plans.
