Colombia - Bomb attack in northern Anioquia

On 11 April - 8 policemen were killed in a bomb attack on their vehicle in rural Urabá, northern Antioquia. The UK FCO advises against all but essential travel to the area.

Ecuador - Recent security incidents in Esmeraldas

Although Ecuador doesn’t have a history of terrorism, in 2018 there have been a number of bomb explosions in the northern province of Esmeraldas. The security situation in the province of Esmeraldas can change very quickly, including in areas outside the exclusion zone to which the FCO advise against all travel. If you’re travelling in the province, you should pay close attention to warnings issued by the Ecuadorean authorities, be particularly cautious and vigilant, and monitor this travel advice regularly.

Exercise a high degree of caution in Cambodia due to an increase in thefts, robberies and other opportunistic crimes. ———- Travel Health Notice - Zika virus The Public Health Agency of Canada has issued advice for travellers on the Zika virus, recommending that Canadians practice special health precautions while travelling in affected countries. Pregnant women and those considering becoming pregnant should avoid travel to Cambodia.
