United States - Hawaiian island of Kauai flooding
National Weather service notes that portions of Kauai received over 30 inches of rain in a 48-hour period, with more rain on the horizon. Governor Ig, has surveyed the portion of the island which is cut off due to funding and efforts are being made to evacuate by air or resupply residents, as appropriate. Meanwhile in Oahu, the same storm caused flash flood damage in portions of the island of Oahu. Travelers should double-check to ensure their accommodations are operating and accessible.

United States - Puerto Rico power outage due to excavator
All of Puerto Rico suffered a power outage on Wednesday, 18 April 2018, due to an excavator causing a catastrophic outage to the entire territory. As of the morning of 19 April, power is gradually being restored.
