Slovakia — US citizens, including children being targeted by terrorists
In an unusually direct warning, the US Department of State is warning US citizens in Slovakia of being targeted by terrorists.
Actions to take:
- Stay alert in public places, including schools, hospitals, churches, tourist locations and transportation hubs.
- Review travel routes and times to reduce time and place predictability.
- Keep a low profile
- Be aware of your surroundings.
- Review your personal security plans.
- Report social media threats to local authorities.

Philippines - Riot Police in place in Boracay Beach area
We have written on the closing of Boracay beach which has occurred - Beach ordered closed 26 April 2018 – Boracay, Philippines
The closure will affect the livelihood of 17,000 hotel, restaurant and other tourism workers, plus 11,000 construction workers. Travelers are cautioned not to travel to Boracay from April - October 2018.

New Caledonia - Australia warns travelers of high cost of medical treatment
Recommends that travelers have adequate travel/medical insurance. Travel advisory on New Caledonia. We support this advice, not only for New Caledonia, but all locales outside one’s home country, as detailed in “Be sure to have the right travel insurance.”

Nicaragua – US Citizens – do not travel if not necessary
US Embassy continues to warn ssued a travel restriction on US government personnel – 5am-5pm travel is permitted. To all US citizens who feel unsafe, Embassy advice: Leave the country.
