Spain - Protests continue following verdict of La Manada (the pack)
A group of five men from Seville were sentenced to nine years in prison for sexual abuse and not rape or sexual assault, causing spontaneous nationwide protests, with 35,000 taking to the streets on 29 April. Nicaragua - Unrest continues throughout the country

Nicaragua has been included in Securely Travel Brief regularly for the past few weeks and there is no expectation of deminished risk in the near term. The US Embassy issued this notice on 27 April
Civil unrest throughout Nicaragua continues to affect normal Embassy operations. On Friday, April 27, the Embassy will open for limited operations, and the Consular Section will continue to assist only American citizens with emergency needs for U.S. travel documents from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. No appointment is needed, but services are only for people with imminent travel plans.
United States - May Day - Anarchist demonstrations expected Seattle and Portland

Puget Sound Anarchists are calling for their members to not congregate for one march in Seattle or Portland, but rather decentralize and carry out smaller “direct action” against capitalism and thus thwarting the coordinated efforts of law enforcement. Travelers are cautioned to monitor local media for signs of unrest, which historically has occurred in the afternoon of 01 May in both Portland and Seattle.
