There were periods where travel to and within the Caribbean was problematic, that is no longer the case. Travel Weekly compiled a most useful of the COVID travel restrictions and requirements for the region in a November 2, 2021 post, which we highly recommend be read (link at the bottom).
In a nutshell, the region is open for travelers from the United States. Remember travel requirements to re-enter the U.S. are in place for both vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers, and apply to both U.S. citizen and non-citizen travelers.
The following countries/territories are included in Travel Weekly’s listing, we’ve researched the U.S. CDC guidance for each and found the majority of locales were at LEVEL 4: Very High Level of COVID-19, with a smattering of LEVEL 1, 2, and 3. The following information is current as of 15 November 2021.
Anguilla
Level 3: High Level of COVID-19 - Fully vaccinate prior to travel.
Antigua and Barbuda
Level 4: Very High Level of COVID-19 - Do Not Travel. If you must travel, make sure you are fully vaccinated.
Aruba
Level 4: Very High Level of COVID-19 - Do Not Travel. If you must travel, make sure you are fully vaccinated.
Bahamas
Level 4: Very High Level of COVID-19 - Do Not Travel. If you must travel, make sure you are fully vaccinated.
Barbados
Level 4: Very High Level of COVID-19 - Do Not Travel. If you must travel, make sure you are fully vaccinated.
Bermuda
Level 4: Very High Level of COVID-19 - Do Not Travel. If you must travel, make sure you are fully vaccinated.
Bonaire
Level 3: High Level of COVID-19 - Fully vaccinate prior to travel.
British Virgin Islands
Level 4: Very High Level of COVID-19 - Do Not Travel. If you must travel, make sure you are fully vaccinated.
Cayman Islands
Level 4: Very High Level of COVID-19 - Do Not Travel. If you must travel, make sure you are fully vaccinated.
Cuba
Level 4: Very High Level of COVID-19 - Do Not Travel. If you must travel, make sure you are fully vaccinated.
Curacao
No CDC information available, vaccinate prior to travel.
Dominica
Level 4: Very High Level of COVID-19 - Do Not Travel. If you must travel, make sure you are fully vaccinated.
Dominican Republic
Level 3: High Level of COVID-19 - Fully vaccinate prior to travel.
Grenada
Level 4: Very High Level of COVID-19 - Do Not Travel. If you must travel, make sure you are fully vaccinated.
Guadeloupe
Level 4: Very High Level of COVID-19 - Do Not Travel. If you must travel, make sure you are fully vaccinated.
Haiti
Level 4: Very High Level of COVID-19 - Do Not Travel. If you must travel, make sure you are fully vaccinated. We strongly recommend no leisure travel to Haiti at this time both due to the recent earthquake, as well as, the very real risk of both crime and kidnapping targeting visitors.
Jamaica
Level 3: High Level of COVID-19 - Fully vaccinate prior to travel.
Martinique
Level 4: Very High Level of COVID-19 - Do Not Travel. If you must travel, make sure you are fully vaccinated.
Montserrat
Level 1: Low Level of COVID-19. Fully vaccinate prior to travel.
Saba and St. Eustatius (Statia)
Level 1: Low Level of COVID-19. Fully vaccinate prior to travel.
St. Barts
Level 1: Low Level of COVID-19. Fully vaccinate prior to travel.
St. Kitts and Nevis
Level 4: Very High Level of COVID-19 - Do Not Travel. If you must travel, make sure you are fully vaccinated.
St. Lucia
