CDC raises travel advisory on 4 European nations

If you aren’t tracking your travel plans with the CDC advisories re COVID, you should. CDC just raised their threat level warning for four European countries from Level 3 to Level 4 COVID LEVEL VERY HIGH - Avoid travel - If you must travel be fully vaccinated before you travel.

Much of Europe is experiencing an influx in COVID cases. Hospitalizations is mostly among the unvaccinated. Therefore, travelers should heed the advice of the CDC and only travel to LEVEL 4 countries if absolutely necessary and be fully vaccinated prior to travel.

Additionally, avail yourself to your host or hotel’s local area knowledge to be sure you are aware of any local restrictions: Full or partial lockdowns may be in place. For example, Austria, The Netherlands and Germany all have lockdowns or partial lockdowns in place as of 15 November.

Travelers are reminded of the recent changes concerning the need be tested for COVID prior to returning to the United States. Those with approved vaccinations within 72 hours, the unvaccinated or those who were vaccinated by an unapproved vaccine within 24 hours of travel.
