Not surprisingly the cash strapped and financially fragile British discount airline FLYBE terminated services today.
The announcement left travelers literally standing at the gate, as the airline turned out its lights.
The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) noted, “Flybe, which operated regional services from airports across the United Kingdom, has entered administration. All Flybe flights, and those operated by Stobart Air, are cancelled.”
No doubt the reduced traffic due to the Covid-19 pandemic had some affect on the financials of FLYBE, it should be noted the airline was in the midst of a fragile financial rescue deal which was never a long-term solution.

Britian’s train operators have offered free transport to FLYBE staff and customers who have found themselves stranded. Presentation of proof of employment or planned journey is required.
