Hurricane Ian - In crisis turn to the helpers

The cleanup and recover from the aftermath of Hurricane Ian continues, and stories of the first responders, the utility crews, and neighbor helping neighbor are coming to light. While on a greater scale FEMA has mobilized resources.

The hospital in Port Charlotte saw the ICU’s roof cave in and the emergency relocation of patients.

Approximately 1 million utility customers are with out power. Prepositioned crews, 42,000 linemen were present and are now engaged in the restoration effort.

The U.S. Coast Guard was instrumental in multiple rescues and released this video of some of their rescues.

And our pets. The Orange County Fire and Rescue, not only rescued stranded individuals, their pets were included as well.
