Don’t forget to keep yourself out of the TSA lines this coming holiday season. Now is the perfect time to update your travel documents, and that includes your TSA Pre✓® .

Normally TSA Pre✓® is good for five years. Do you have your expiration marked on your calendar (the electronic one?). Not many do, everyone should.

And if you don’t have TSA Pre✓® , get on your horse and take care of that right now. It is a must have for travelers to, from and within the United States.

Some TSA Pre✓® Factoids

There are 72 domestic and international carriers who are participating in TSA Pre✓® as of 12 August 2019. The service is available in more than 200 U.S. airports.

Time is valuable, right? TSA Pre✓ passengers on average wait less than 5 minutes to transit TSA security. Now remember that is the average, and we’ve all had longer and shorter line experiences. Bottom line, you give yourself time for a libation by using TSA Pre✓.

What other travel programs or special groups enjoy the privilege of TSA? According to TSA:

Other passengers who are eligible for TSA Pre✓® include members of the three U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Trusted Traveler programs, Global Entry, NEXUS and SENTRI. To find the program that best suits your travel needs, use the Department of Homeland Security trusted traveler comparison tool. TSA Pre✓® is also available for U.S. Armed Forces service members, including those serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, Reserves and National Guard.

TSA tells us that “TSA Pre✓® members who have enjoyed expedited screening since 2014 are now eligible to renew their membership. To keep enjoying TSA Pre✓® benefits, individuals may renew up to six months before their membership expiration date. For most members, renewal is easy and may be completed online.
