Acronis, a cybersecurity / cyber protection company with a presence in 150 countries invited us to attend their #Cyberfit Summit in Miami this week, to learn more about their services and how they help service providers provide secure endpoint (device) support to their customers (5.5 million homes trust Acronis). Indeed, over the course of the last year Acronis has stopped over 100,000,000 cyber attacks.
We are looking at how Acronis offerings may assist the traveler who wishes to work remotely, or is a road warrior or fortunate to be able to take a vacation every now and again. We are searching to learn what solutions, either directly or indirectly (via service providers) are available. In addition, we hope to learn about the implementation of data loss protection, business continuity, emergency data recovery, one-click recovery and rebuild of a backup (who hasn’t lost a device while traveling?) for individuals, company’s and organizations. Separately, we will be looking at why virtual private networks (VPNs), antivirus implementation and data backup technologies are table stakes for individuals and companies in this day and age of robust cybercriminal activity.
Acronis Cyber Fit Summit 2022
The summit kicked off today, 07 November, though last night we had the opportunity to receive a briefing and Q&A with CEO Patrick Pulvermueller, where he described the recent success in landing an investment of $250 million (at a $3.5 billion valuation. In addition, today former FBI Director Louis Freeh provided an overview of of organized crime from the mafia to the current ransomware attacks.
We’ll update throughout the week with some thoughts on why cybersecurity is of import to the traveler, be it the individual traveling for pleasure or for the employee traveling on behalf of your business. Size does not matter in the threat quotient, however, it does matter in the solution quotient and it is these questions which we are hoping to answer this week and initiate an ongoing series.
