According to a new survey published by PriorityPass, on What makes us the most worried and stressed at airports? there are a myriad of things which cause us stress and worry before we travel or at the airport.

#1 - Getting stuck on the way to the airport - over 60 percent of the survey’s respondents noted that getting stuck on the way to the airport caused them the most stress and worry.

#2 - Losing baggage - Concern about losing one’s baggage was a close second, also presenting over 60 percent of the respondents having this concern. While keeping passengers and their luggage together have improved through the implementation of advanced technologies for both security, as well as, customer satisfaction, that is of little solace when it is your bag that went to London, when you went to Paris.  You will probably be reunited with your bag at some future point. That may not be the case when we consider the fact  baggage thieves exist.  There was an incident in France, a bus transporting tourists was stuck in traffic and thieves opened the storage compartment and stole luggage while shocked passengers watched helplessly from their seats.

#3 - Missing boarding - The adage for that frequent business flyer who occasionally missed a boarding is, “If you don’t miss a boarding now and again, you are spending too much time in airports,” does little to lessen the anxiety of missing a boarding announcement. We’ve all experienced gate changes, or simply not hearing the boarding announcement. Over 50 percent of those who took this survey worry about missing that boarding.

#4 - Misplacing my Passport - Traveling abroad by air requires a passport and they do go missing. Over 50 percent of the respondents identified this as a concern. The healthy market in counterfeit passports leaves no doubt criminals are always looking for a means to steal one, even on your flight. In addition, we simply forgetting where you put your passport after the last trip, can cause anxiety. Then there are those instances where the passport inexplicably goes missing mid-trip (falls out of our pocket or behind the nightstand at the hotel).

#5 - Delays - Twiddling our thumbs when we want to be heading towards our destination is frustrating for all travelers. There are air traffic delays, weather delays and mechanical delays. Matters little which it is the end result is the same, we sit and wait. Half of us generate angst about this possibility according to the survey.
